  About Turning Water Wise
Every year 1 in 3 people over the age of 65 are affected by falls. Falls are the leading cause of hospitalisation and death for older people.

Throughout the state in recent months an increase of sprain and strain injuries directly related to garden watering has been reported.

Lower Murray Water in conjunction with Mildura Rural City Council has developed a program to assist seniors to adopt safer water conservation practices.

The program’s aim is to educate and assist our community’s seniors on water wise practices and how these can be safely implemented in the household.

We hope this program will result in the sustainable reduction in water consumption, while generating safe water re-use practices around the home.

Lower Murray Water in conjunction with Mildura Rural City Council has just completed audits within the home to better assess the needs to the elderly community.

“Watch this space” for more information on the project as it becomes available.
